Four-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead is at the top of his game, and naturally, conversations about dream matchups against all-time greats arise.
In a recent interview on the Full Send Podcast, Bumstead spoke about what a matchup against Arnold Schwarzenegger would look like.
Bumstead acknowledged that it is impossible to know how the two would compare during the heights of their careers, as people back then weren't as lean as they are today. However, he believes that in the last year's Olympia, he could have beaten Schwarzenegger because he was not in shape enough.
Although Bumstead has not spoken to Schwarzenegger many times, he appreciates being in the same sentence as him and acknowledges that he is the absolute GOAT, and he does not think he would ever replace him in bodybuilding.
Bumstead ended the topic by acknowledging all that Schwarzenegger did for bodybuilding both on and off the stage, noting that he is one of the reasons why it has become as popular as it is today.
As with any sport, what is certain is that times change, and there are many factors at work when thinking about some of these fantasy pairings. Nevertheless, Bumstead remains a dominant force in Classic Physique, and his brand continues to grow. He looks forward to defending his title and making it five wins in a row at the end of the year.
